If you've been rotting for about the same time as I, or longer, you will lovingly remember a humble comic called ARCHIE.
It ws a comic about a loveable gang of kids from the town of Riverdale getting up to harmless fun and saying no to drugs in the 1950s. My favourite character of this comic was Jughead (reference Shaggy from Scooby Doo, including eating habits and goofiness but phsyically cross-bread with John Cusack). But their "leader" was Archie, though he was far from a tyrannical leader. More of a clumsy, lovable oaf who had a deep passion for cars, that could only be "out-pashed" by his love for women. Betty & Veronica were the two women in his life and he seemed to be able to quite freely go between them as often as he pleased. Clearly this comic was created before the wretched woman's liberation movement, therefore nobody scoffed at Archie's womanising ways. I'm pretty sure he beat these two chicks out in public and nobody cared.
Anyway, with the 1990s came a new Archie cartoon that I'm sure almost nobody has seen. It had terrible animation, ridiculous story lines and it is filled with 90s tackiness. More the reason for me to buy these on DVD and watch them. Now I'm a huge fan :) This cartoon was called "ARCHIE'S WEIRD MYSTERIES". The city of Riverdale was now apparently overrun by monsters and all things of a creepy nature were happening. The cool title had an even COOLER soundtrack to boot. Awesome, ey? So, I found some images from this 'tackier-than-a-Delorean' cartoon scattered all over the Internet whilst bored at work (that's not to say there wasn't work to be done, it was just BORING). So I decided to use ALL of my SUPERIOR creative ability to make a quick Archie comic exposing Archie's true character traits.
