Wow - they are some fucking long lists huh?
Let's get started with the movies. I own a large selection of those films. I go OUT OF MY WAY to IMPORT region 1 and region 2 versions of these films so I can experience them in their intended glory. Censorship assures one thing, Australia will lose money.
I don't quite understand banning a film. The fact remains, only people who are interesting in horror are going to go see a film called "CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST". hehe It's ridiculous! Could you imagine Roger & Martha Bloggs going looking at a newspaper together and saying "Oh yes honey, how about we both go see that film 'Sadistic Whore' - that sounds like a delightful romp!". Could you honestly imagine that? No, because fucking Roger & Martha Bloggs wouldn't go see it. The name would turn them off immediately and mostly appeal to fans of the a genre that a movie like "Sadistic Whore" could thrive in, namely, HORROR.
The fact that alot of people have put in a fucking fistful of effort to make a production to fit that chosen genre means it should deserve a form of un-touched release. It's fucking art and I thought some fundamental laws of our "civilisation" was freedom of speech, artistic justice and all that other beatnick shiz. hehe
It's not even the fact this director, writer or performer has had their worked altered to "save the children" or rainforests or whatever the fuck the next fairy wants to save. No, it's the fact that I, The fucking Bludgeoner, am a (near) 28 year old male who pays his fucking taxes, works full time, gets ass fucked by the system we're told everyday to suck off and just wants to be able to at least watch a fucking movie that HE is personally into, without having to import, sneak around or fucking feel like a criminal to watch! <-- Don't even try to make any fucking quips about "Ohw Bludgeoner, perhaps we should CENSOR your paragraph long sentence! Ho ho ho!" because it would only make you a pompous fool! Still, not as pompous as the OFLC. hehe.
We also have the censorship (and banning) of video games becoming more and more abundant. I believe the first time video game censorship was considered and utilised (within Australia) was with the all too famous arcade classic, Mortal Kombat (MOOOORRRRTAL KOMBAAAT!!!! DUNNN DUNNN DUNNN DUNDUNDUN! - hehe - I love that song). So you wont find records of any video games banned within Australia that pre-date MKI. But going through the list I have noticed many games that I have played (imported versions or abandonware types, naturally) and to be honest, their censorship is a fucking joke. The only defence I could give decisions to censor or ban said games is any that pre-date, say, the mid 1995. Because ADULT gaming (and by adult gaming - non-porno - darker themes gaming) was not a thing people could possibly imagine. Arcade classics like MK I and home system duds like Night Trap (Mega CD) invented a darker world of gaming. That was along time ago, people still thought only children played these systems.
But there is no longer an excuse. Once again we have Australia remaining in the dark ages by refusing to allow an R18 rating for video games. Australia's preferred option is to either a.) ensure a strict censorship of the game (therefore forcing buyers - NOTE: children included - to import it from overseas for EVERYTHING INTENDED in the game) or b.) totally ban the game for Australian release (therefore forcing buyers - NOTE: children included - to import it from overseas JUST TO PLAY IT).
When will it be learnt that the only thing suffering from such tight buns clenching censorship is a loss of money circulating in the Australan part of a thriving gaming market.
How about the government gets off it's fucking ass and does something about families falling apart. Why do I always see kids who are 12 going to the cinema on their own? Why do I always see parents not paying attention to their kids. Too much of a fucking hassle is it? Well get rid of it and give it to a person who can raise it within the correct observational and nurturing environment one would imagine a child needs.
Maybe the government shouldn't be fucking handing out wads of cash to the wrong people for having children. Maybe the government shouldn't look toward cutting Australia off from anything that may "damage a child's innnocent mind" because approaching the source of the problem is simply too fucking hard.
I'm a fucking adult and I've been working every day of my life since I finished school. I pay my fucking taxes, I fucking do as I'm told (nowadays anyway) and all I ask is some fucking escape. If my version of escape is VIRTUALLY fucking hookers, then killing them so I may take back the money I just paid them with, well then that's my fucking business as a legal adult living in Australia, not the government's business to tell me I CAN'T DO THAT.
If children are playing this shit, lock the fucking parents up. Why don't you do the same fucking dob in scheme you did for terrorism, for bad parenting. Of course list a set of conditions. You could market it like you do the terrorism ad too. You know how you only play the terrorism advertisement regularly on SBS now. So all the evil doer foreigners trying to watch some of their local shit can dob in cousin Jihad from the apartment next to them. You could market the advertisement during the day time television period, where all the terrible single mothers are watching television instead of monitoring their child.
We have to stop sweeping the real issues under the rug by BANNING things! It's a fucking joke and it's unfair to we adult Australian's who simply want to virtually kill, rape, cast spells and drive dangerously. After all, isn't it better all of us are doing this (remember if it's restricted to adult use, like it should be, only those of us who know better would be playing them) on a video game than in real life?

Just recently announced in news is the banning of Quentin Tarantino's movie, Inglorious Basterds, starring Brad Pitt. It has been banned due to it's controversial content, depictions of gore and violence and probably because they're trying to save the world from the evil that is Quentin Tarantino. hehe. But in all seriousness, surely if the film receives an R rating, we adult human beings can be trusted to make up our own mind if we're going to see it yeah? Why the fuck must it be banned? Bah!
