For people who weren't in the know, just recently the website for the OFLC (Office of Film & Literature Classification - for Australia) was hacked.
Here's an example of the fantastically sarcastic but all too true cyber vandalism:
Although the age and maturity level of the hackers can only be assumed as minor, I still find this vandalism fitting. Even though the vandalism is sarcastic to some extent, it still represents the things that the OFLC do wrong on a daily basis. The only unfortunate business involved with this hacking is that it comes across as a wasted opportunity to truly deliver a message of the OFLC's wrong doings and to hopefully open their eyes to how things could be better. Then again, would the OFLC ever take notice of their OWN wrong doings, no, because they are superior beings.
I bet if you look it up, Australia has one of the longest lists of games and movies banned. We're still one of the only "civilised" countries left, that doesn't have an R rating for video games. This is because the fucking people carved out of stone who work for the OFLC (and to mention the Attorney-General) are so completely out of touch with the world that they still think children are innocent, humans are peaceful, adults don't play video games and they are actually doing a good job.
This leads me to the next rant.
